Days 1 and 2 done!

So I've not ran since primary school! I've struggled with joint problems since 10years old, mainly my knees. I'm pleasantly surprised that my knees have coped just fine! Going for day 3 of week 1 tomorrow.

I'm doing this on a treadmill rather than outside as I simply don't have the time, whereas I can use a treadmill whilst dinner is cooking haha :D

I used to have sore knees , walking upstairs etc , but I have found that since I started short runs they have surprisingly improved ! Good shoes help too !

I read somewhere that running 🏃 is actually good for your knees - who knew?

Well done on your first 2 runs, although I worry you're going a bit fast - just looking at your heart rate

Good luck with your next run 🏃 😊

Thank you :)

I'm not too worried about my heart rate, it's quite often over 100 when I'm just sat watching tv in the evening, it's always felt like its racing constantly :)

Thank you!

Fair enough ☺

As long as you feel OK, stick with it 😊

Agree with the point about knees. Running actually seems to be protective of knee joints.

I find it strange as when I was younger, if I ran at all, I'd struggle to walk at all because of swelling and pain in my knees after only a few minutes. It's never been officially diagnosed, but a fair few doctors I've seen seem pretty convinced I have rheumatoid arthritis

Well done on getting started.

I may have misunderstood but you mention doing run 3 ‘tomorrow’. Are you having a rest day in between each run? If not you really should as it’s when your body repairs itself and it’s as important as the running itself. It’s tempting to miss in the initial enthusiasm 😊

Yes I am :) I posted yesterday, but run 2 was the day before (tuesday)

Just checking 😂 I hope it goes well and the knees hold out. Good luck
