Do you do the warm up exercises? There is a link in the How to post. Also do the cool down stretches (link also in the post) as they help to and can also help to prevent injury 👍😁

Try some calf raises on your non-running days.

If you are not doing them, won't hurt to do squats on your non-running days too.

I do Crossfit, squatting 130kg at the moment. Anything plyometric or skipping and running tend to effect them

Have you seen a physio ? I went cause my knee was sore, one of the exercises I was given was calf raises because one calf was tight.

Try the NHS Strength and Flex podcasts on your rest days. They include a really simple and useful calf stretch which you can then use anywhere.

All good advice. Swimming or yoga on rest days might help too.

Stretching immediately after every run, nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/h... while muscles are still warm and supple, pulls out contractions, avoiding carrying tensions into the next run and also improves recovery by improving blood flow.
