New and confused

Hi, new to c25k and this 'community' I've completed week 1, have achy knees so I've managed to find some advice on here about taking it slow and getting enough rest between runs so all good. Thing I'm confused about is using this place. I'm looking at it on my phone, read a thread where a community about strength and flex was recommended but I couldn't find it. How do I find out what the other communities are? There doesn't seem to be any links? If I go on my PC it's totally different to what I have on my phone so that's not helping, is there a menu I'm missing? Thanks

Great for getting started. Just go slow and slower again if needed and remember to drink lots of water per day and not just on run days about 2-3 litres.

C25k is an amazing plan and really does work you'll get lots of encouragement and support on here good luck.

healthunlocked.com/strength...

This is the link to strength and flex. Once you click on it and get to the forum at the top click on Follow

Then to find it again click on the 9 dots at the top of the page that are grouped like a square. You will see c25k and strength and flex.

Come back if you have any problems as some phones are different in how they work🤗

Hi SoloNomad , welcome to the forum and well done on completing week 1...committing yourself to the programme and taking that first step is probably the hardest part. But you've done it and for that you should be proud! As for your achy knees...well, everything that Buddy says below is good advice...stretching and flexing, which you know there is a link for and definitely always have rest days inbetween. your legs are bound to be aching, they are doing something that they possibly haven't done for a while. So if you're doing everything that Buddy mentions below you are doing the right thing and taking an extra rest day is ok, bett to do that than risk injury. Good luck with the rest of the programme...and don't forget to keep posting and asking any questions 🤗

Seems to me phones are different. My iPhone uses an app called Health Unlocked for the forum. C25k is a subset, a “community” under the general site. At the bottom of my screen are a number of choices, one of which is “Your Communities”. And that page lets you search for any of the many health groups. Good luck with the mysteries of phones!

Also well done on your running! Lots of water, going slow and extra rest days now & then should sort you out, I hope. For help with running style, google Japanese Slow Running technique - there’s a good YouTube video. 😊👍

Thanks all, I'll get the hang of navigating around here soon.

Yes it's been a while since doing any running, run a lot when I was younger but nothing in the last 15 years or so, mostly been cycling and mtbing, thought my legs would be ok but guess using different muscles and the impact on the joints is something the body needs to get used to again. Really like the idea of getting into it slowly, I'd probably have gone out and attempted to run for too long and get put off or suffered injuries.
