Parkrun in the wind

Getting out for my run this morning took a lot of motivation, the rain is bouncing outside and the wind is blowing hard! But off to Parkrun I went with a bag full of warm clothes and a flask of coffee for when I finished.

The run today was TOUGH, the wind made it really difficult for me to get my breathing steady but I kept my steady pace and made it to the end.... text came in with my time of 33:19 so I am over the moon :)

Not there next week as I am doing my Poppy Run but looking forward to improving on my time as the weeks and months go by :)

Firstly, huge congratulations for getting out and facing that weather. Judging by your description, you had very similar weather to me. YUCK! I still think this is the hardest part of running so I'm always impressed when people still go out when the weather's crap.

Secondly, WOW, great time, especially considering the conditions. Just think how well you'd have done if it wasn't so horrendous out there.

Hope you're able to spend the rest of the day relaxing and keeping warm and cosy.

Congratulations on completing your parkrun in such bad weather, I notice the attendance at parkruns this morning is low, that's because of the weather, so a special congratulations to you for getting out and running.

Thank you :) I think the combination of bad weather and the rugby had an impact on numbers this morning.

Well done tiggs1, getting out of bed when you know you’re gonna get wet is difficult. Fortunately, we just had the wind 💨💦🏃‍♂️💦

Well done tiggs1 , that is great parkrun time!! and kudos to you for getting out of bed this morning knowing what the weather was going to be throwing at you!!! Brrrr, it was chucking it down here this morning too and has been doing for a few days so our parkrun will have turned into a mudslide so there was no way I was slip sliding in that!!! I HATE mud!

Thank you, I was lucky that ours doesn't get muddy but there were plenty of puddles and going along the esplanade i thought i may blow over :)
