Hello Oldfloss and all runners and lurkers. I’d like to share an update on my story with everyone and say a big thanks for helping me get back into a regular running routine. So, having graduated last October for the first time, I suffered a nasty broken wrist falling off my bicycle. I lost my routine and gradually gave up for completely for several months. Happy to report that with the help and encouragement of one or two very wonderful people and one fellow runner in particular, I have completed the C25K for the second time in 12 months. I have a regular run schedule now and have enjoyed both dawn, morning, afternoon and dusk runs over the summer and early autumn. I’m in the happy position of enjoying an endorphin reward following my runs and have gradually added a few extra minutes and Kms to my consolidation runs. I intend to join the next intake of bridge to 10k and was wondering if there is any more by way of reading via links. I’m not too obsessed with pace etc at mo, mostly because I am quite slow, averaging around 7-7:30 per km depending on terrain and course. I have the opportunity to join a local running group who meet twice per week, once for a road run, 6-10km in a couple of groups and second meet at a track, for Fartlek type drills and so forth. Most of them then do a solo run or Parkrun or other event on the weekend. I work Saturdays but have found I can fit in a Friday eve or Sat dawn run before work. I am enjoying a couple 1-2 hours on my bike, again with company, too. I feel I’mb really making some good progress and feeling so positive about virtually everything again, which is a joy. Even the Brexit situation isn’t getting to me. I have managed to get this far injury free and have a pre and post run/ cycle active stretching routine which I follow properly. I feel that as I gradually add a little more distance and lose a little more weight along with building up more stamina, I would like to ask if anyone has tried yoga classes to improve their flexibility/suppleness and core strength. I would like to end by saying a big and sincere heartfelt thankyou to all contributors and administrators on this forum, you people are THE BEST there is. Blessings and love to you all and wishing you Happy miles of running
