Another day, another successful run. This one was a little difficult to say the least though. Just after half way, when I turned for home, my legs were telling my brain to make the bad man stop. I slowed my pace down, but no, my legs were still not having the time of their lives.
It wasn't easy, but that feeling of wanting to stop did pass. I have certain milestones on my route now, and I kind of know how far I've got left without the Laura telling me, I was ticking those off in my mind as I persuaded my legs to keep on moving. That little bit of extra motivation - knowing that the quickest way to get home was to carry on running, and that I didn't have that far left - helped me push on through the bit of difficulty.
I've really noticed today that I am recovering much more quickly with each run. After W1R1 I was sweating and hot for quite a time afterwards, today I've been home for over an hour, showered, breakfasted, and I'm nice and cooled down already. That's another big motivation, being aware of the improvement I'm making in my fitness.
