First day and I have to say I’m disappointed with myself I couldn’t manage to run it all. I’m not giving up will try again on Tuesday. Didn’t think it would be that hard

I started today too. It wasn't easy but nothing worth doing is going to be. At least you are out doing something which is more than lots of others. Keep trying and I'm sure you will get there.

Do not be disappointed you did your first run and you're going to try again on

Tuesday, that shows determination.

Make sure you are well hydrated drinking 2-3 litres of water per day and next time try going slower . You can do this 😊😊

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5... and includes advice on pacing........slow down!

Enjoy your journey

Make sure you take it really slowly. Go as slowly as you possibly can whilst keeping a jogging/running action. Don’t be put off it will get better.

Shh. Don't tell anyone but I couldn't do the first one either! The hardest thing to do is to start c25k. You've done that so well done 👍 keep going because you can do it!

What an achievement to make a start that’s the hardest run over and you won’t believe how soon your fitness increases

Don't give up! It took me 9 months but I graduated yesterday. You can do it too, go slowly, drink lots, sleep more if you need to (I found I slept for an extra hour or two a night for the first few weeks), turn up for every run even if you end up walking it, enjoy the rest days when your legs are quietly healing without you being aware of it. Good luck, onwards and upwards 😊

Well done! You have started! No need to be disappointed. Do a walk tomorrow, drink plenty of fluid & come Tuesday remind yourself that you need to go at snails pace🐌 slowly, slowly & you will do it!

Many of us have to repeat runs here and there. Trust the program. It’s amazing! Relax & enjoy the challenge.

Well done getting out there. You’re not alone, that run nearly killed me, and many (almost all) of the graduates here found it incredibly tough. Slow right down, and just keep crossing the start lines. Every run (complete or not) makes you a little fitter and a little stronger for the next time out. You can do this.

And another thing - I found if you replace the word "run" with "jog" then things get a lot easier and expectations more realistic. You may like to have a look at the Japanese slow jogging video available on the web - youtube.com/watch?v=9L2b2kh... - very reassuring.
