You run, how you run.... and there is no wrong or right way...Achilles pain means rest... and no running, until the pain has gone.

The NHS advice is helpful..

Thank you Ill take a look. I have read that if this occurs and you dont rest they repair thicker and cause more problems :(

Rest works...I tore my Achilles ( not running ) in plaster for three months...three different plasters as I did not want to have surgery. It is fine now:)

You will be right as rain soon...and the runs do wait:)

I got to week 6 then developed a very sore Achilles.... even walking has been difficult for the last 3 weeks so definitely not contemplating running for a good while yet. It’s had quite an impact on my everyday life so actually very nervous about resuming the programme.... I’m 63 and gp advised care as tendons less flexible with age.

There are quite a lot of useful exercise to strengthen those tendons...I am recovering from a torn tibialis tendon..and the exercises have helped enormously.

I am 69:)..and as my lovely Sports physio says..tendon injuries can happen to anyone...any age...any time..😉

There's some good advice on u-tube about 'slow' running which shows some good techniques that might be helpful once you have recovered. Hang on in there and you'll be back and running comfortably.

Yes I looked on there for technique and was told run 'flat foot' on the middle arch so am not sure thats where it started, but thank you I'll take a look :)

Just a wild thought; if you search the internet for Plantar Fasciitis there is a world of information about the Achilles, calf and foot. Might be a red herring but may prompt ideas for exercises.
