Run 3 of week 5

Hi all. Can somebody explain to me what I should be doing for run 3 of week 5. I attempted it on Saturday and it felt like a bit of a jump from run 2 ( which was 8 minutes running 5 mins walking and a further 8 mins running) whereas run 3 said it was a straight 20 min run. I kept making excuses to myself and finally dragged myself out to give it a try already feeling like I was going to fail but when I started listening to Sarah she didn’t instruct me to run for 20 mins it was something completely different it started with a 3 min run but thinking I had done something wrong I just ran for as long as I could and managed 10 mins but was really put off and confused. When I finished it flashed up its little congratulation summary saying well done you ran for 20 mins. I tried acccessing this again but again it definitely was not a twenty min run she was talking through so I got my friend to try who was also up to run 3 of eeek 5 and she experienced the same. So can somebody tell me what I’m meant to be doing as I’ve not run since and it’s proper knocked me as I’m not sure where I should be at.

Thanks

Casey

Ah, Sarah's at it again!! She did this to me and I was seriously miffed with her, however I knew it was a recognised glitch in the app, so I just switched to Michael Johnson for that run. I forgave Sarah and went back to her afterwards.

So, week 5 run 3 IS a 20 minute run. If you have completed the previous two runs on week 5 comfortably, then this third run of the week is achievable and you will feel great when you nail it. Think of it this way - it is only 4 minutes more running than the previous run of week 5, it is the shortest run of week 5, it is easier to run for a straight 20 minutes than it is to do intervals (you will recognise this as you get into those longer runs), and finally have faith in your self and TRUST THE PLAN - it works.

I don't know how long you have had between runs? If you feel it would help you confidence-wise, go back to the start of week 5 and do the first two runs again. That will hopefully make you feel better prepared. You can do this! 😊🏃‍♀️

Run 3 of week 5 is the first of the longer runs, it is not a mistake, in fact one of the previous workouts is a little longer, just take it slower than you have taken your other runs, once you do complete it you will be very proud of yourself.

Thunk there is a bit of a problem for some people when it comes to wk5r3. Try changing your trainer and see if it helps good luck 😊

hi Casey12345, yes theres a glitch with week5 run 3 if you use sarah as coach, its a bit off putting it happened to me too so I just set a timer for 20 mins. I am told that if you swop coach for that run they all work, its just Sarah playing up and only with that particular run

good luck doing it again, just keep it slow🐢 and you be ok, its an important run in the programme and really builds your confidence when you do it👍😊
