After any advise as to how long is too long to take off from running??

I have family over from Australia for 3 weeks and trying to incorporate seeing them as much as possible, working full time and being a lone parent all mixed together means i am struggling to see when i could have time to run!? So therefore how long is too long to take off? I am currently at W7R2

TIA

I did 30 years... that was too long 🤣

We can go two weeks without running and be the same fitness... after that it goes very gradually. You’re probably also above the fitness required for the next run... so 3 weeks should leave it possible to just carry on. That said, one run a week will maintain your levels... two will improve them... so if you can get a run in it will only help.

I’ll have my kit packed and in the car 😂 ready for any opportunity 🤣 starting to get slightly addicted/obsessive to my normal run days!

Well I have been stuck on the IC for 5 months...sigh.

Enjoy your family to the full. If an occasional opportunity for a run appears, grab it! 😀 No worries if it doesn’t - you will be all the more delighted to be back in your running shoes when you get going again. 😀

I have been off for a month at a time but doing a lot of walking during it. It really didn't affect me much, but I was walking a lot of miles each day during the hiatus. :)

I had a 4 week break at a similar stage as you are. Repeated my last run and then just carried on with no problem. If you are determined to pick up where you left off then you will.

The advice on the faq articles say you will not lose any conditioning up to 2 weeks.

If you are enjoying the programme I think you’ll want to get out for a run in amongst your busy schedule!

I’m like that, I tell myself I will have some time out, but then I crave it so much and go for a run!
