I started the journey quite a few weeks ago. A few weeks in a friend said she would too. Then another; then another. Each time someone else decided to join we’ve not moved on until they’ve caught up. Up till that point I had followed the plan exactly.

But now we are all up to the same point and next week going to do week 5 run 2.

I thought I would be a bit frustrated at the delay but on the contrary, I can feel my fitness and stamina growing but much more than that, the fun in doing it with friends is wonderful. We are all amazed that we’re getting there even though we all declared we ‘couldn’t run’

This really is a programme where the journey is every bit as important as the destination. And when we we all graduate together it will be an amazing achievement.

We’ve also all joined a Pilates class. From doing nothing on a weeknight after work we’re now our running 3 times a week and a Pilates and life is so much better for it all round.

Ps all in our 50s so i guess my advice is don’t hesitate to suggest it to friends and down worry about repeating weeks.
