So, since the beginning of week 1 I’ve worn an old pair of jogging bottoms an old t shirt and my old converse trainers. Now, yesterday I completed week 4 run 2 and tomorrow I will complete week 4. On hols on Friday and off to shops to purchase an upgrade. RUNNING TRAINERS/shoes etc. Any tips greatly received. Budget for footwear about £50/£60 pink leg warmers an option but drawing the line at Speedo’s. 🤢🤭😁🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ then with newly acquired super kit it’ll be on to week 5 on Saturday morning.

Best of luck! Many people mention doing a gait analysis at a running shop and then from that it can advise on best fit trainers. Do share a photo of your new trainers! And don’t forget to run/walk them in before your run.

I would definitely go to a proper independent running shop and have your gait analysis done. Tell them your budget as some shoes are quite expensive. But our walking & running style can put different strains on our bodies and understanding what we’re doing, along with the right shoes can help correct for a lot of problems.

No real advice to offer as such but just to say happy shopping!! I bought some neutral running trainers for £55 Nike ones in sports direct quite early on then this weekend just gone I bought some 2 in 1 running shorts and some running t shirts a lightweight jacket and gloves, one part of my body which never warm up on a run is my hands!
