Week 5 Run 2. I was apprehensive about 2 X 8 minute runs today but I did it. In my mind I split it into 2 X 4 minute runs back to back so there was a mid point, a halfway there for me. It further occurred to me that today I passed the halfway point in the nine weeks programme. So it's all downhill for me now. Except it isn't, a 20 minute run looms on Friday.
Incidentally, I do all my runs at home on a treadmill. Any thoughts? I think it lowers the impact stress on my knees.

Well done, I did this run today as well and am pleased with how it went. I’ve never run on a treadmill but think getting outside is part of the attraction for me. Even in bad weather it’s ok once you are running and I find running to the next lamppost or running past a landmark I’ve not reached before gets me through some mental blocks sometimes.
I’m also a ‘splitter’ - I wonder if there’s a term for people like us?
I just passed week 8 which has me running for 28 minutes- that one was a toughy - I break into 5 mins, and 2.5 mins, but then there’s a 4 min block in there that just threw by head for a spine every time. My calculations in the second half were almost as hard to cope with as the run itself!
As long as the technique gets you through, it’s a good technique!
