7km, 71 Steps and Sunshine.

I am in the middle of my HM training plan, which for my plan means I am on 7km runs, twice a week. It is my favourite distance and I find that it is as good as a meditation session for sorting my head out and relaxing.

The weather is beautiful out there today. In all my years running I don’t think I have ever stripped off to my crossback top in February. This time last year I was watching the news to see if the Big half in London was going happen as there was snow every where as the Beast from the East disrupted everything.

My 7km route involves 71 steps. Sometimes I run up them sometimes I walk. Hehe, today I stopped and took pictures. Which ever way I leave home I have hills to contend with so I have learnt that whatever feel right on the day is the way to deal with them. It is my run and what suits me best is the right way. At least I don’t have to go out and do a hill training session 😀.

Happy healthy running to you all.

Sounds like a wonderful run... do you turn and do the Rocky thing at the top of the steps?

I have done a couple of times. Best one though was going up the second set of steps and watching this girl run to the bottom step then hop up them switching legs half way. As I ran past I just gave her a big smile and said Kudos to you, that is hard core. I could never do that 😀.

Now I’m seeing an RFC montage, Rocky had people join his run, you have kids getting up the steps in interestingly difficult ways... of course the end is the same... one tough badass at the top.

This is why I am running on the treadmill, I just can't handle all those hills in that park! One day ..

Hehe that park sure does have a lot of hills 😀. One day try and give it a go , it was such a fun run in the sunshine. If I have to walk up them hills sometimes it is only me that knows. 😉. I found out this week my park has a half marathon in March which is laps of the hills. Maybe I might train for that next year but that might be a bit too much. 😀.
