Week one two runs in... God its tough my legs are like lead and I thought I was pretty fit. Who knew self propulsion was so hard?? I'm a long way from being as fit asi thought!

Well done 👍🏻 I think we all feel that. I’ve done the gym for years, spin classes, cross trainer etc and many moons ago I used to run miles, totally different kettle of fish now though.... slow and steady for me 🐌🐌 but I’ll get there and so will you 😊

Welcome ! Keep it slow and steady and you’ll get there. Heavy legs can be a sign of poor hydration, so keep those fluids up and enjoy your journey x

Hi Floyjoy, I am a newbie too, W2R2 just completed and I find concentrating of lifting my knees helps with the heavy leg feeling. I felt great doing my run today, much better than W2R1. Keep up the good work, you are doing great. 👍🏃‍♀️

Your base fitness will help, but the legs do take a while to condition to running... it gets easier! Great start, enjoy closing the first week out.

In 10 months time you will have run distances you can’t believe and be hooked for life! Keep slowing down as it gets harder. The programme really works!

Aaah thanks Jay will try although if I slow down any more ill be in danger of being mistaken for a sweaty tree !

We’ve all been there. Slow is good. This is getting you into a running habit and ready to run a little faster later. Keep going!

I know what you mean. Felt like that at start of WK2 but by the end today it was much better!

Me too Floyjoy! All of the above applies. I started c25k 18 months ago and loved it until I got plantar fasciitis. It lasted 9 months. So I have started gently again and am keeping my fingers crossed. I really enjoyed my first two runs. The second was harder. Good luck!

If you take this really steadily and slowly... you will be fine,,, :) it is hard at first..but each run makes you stronger.. and each run, each week sets the tone for the next!

Eat well.. drink water well.... rest well and pop in some exercise..non impact..on rest days too.
