Hi MrsK2017, congratulations on having started the program!! 🎊🎉👏 Usually if you are not used to exercising you will have some little aches, but it should not be too much. Are you warming up and then stretching properly after your runs? it helps a lot! Here you have a link with some good ones: nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/h...

And you can also check this post by IannodaTruffe for many other very useful tips: healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Happy running!!

I just done the brisk walk for warm up and warm down, should I be doing more? 🤔

The 5 min walks pre and post are a must, for sure. But some post-run stretches are great to help your muscles to relax and make sure they are not stiff, because it makes them feel sore. Take a look at the stretches link, I have been doing them since the beginning and they work, the odd times I did not I felt More sore

Also in the FAQ post you can find info about running technique (like kissing the ground with your feet💋🦶😉) that can be very useful as a beginner.

Well done for getting through the first two runs ! Maybe you’re going at things too hard and fast. Take it slow and steady at first and give your muscles time to adapt to their new challenges. I do the NHS Strength and Flex podcasts on my rest days and they really help - you might like to check them out. Enjoy your journey x

What the other 2 have already said.

If you’re very sore, perhaps give yourself an extra day before you go for run 3, and then take it slightly slower when you do do it.

Agree with what everyone said, the stretches before and after really do help, I would also advice to watch your pace during the first few weeks, while your body adjusts and the legs get stronger!

Should I still do my run tomorrow or would you all recommend another rest day?
