At about the 20 second mark, after starting out this morning, I thought I would never make the entire time. My legs lagged and I was tired. After about the first mile in, about 12:45/mi pace, it became less arduous. I kept going past my scheduled 25 and completed my first 5K in about 38 minutes. I know I went farther than I should have, but am over the moon. Back to my regularly scheduled programming on Saturday for W7R3!

That’s a great run. Sounds like you got in the zone after the first mile. Well done. Only 7 more runs until graduation 👏👏

Thanks! Yes, it was as if the fog lifted and I felt great.

Great job. Yes, you got that 5k, nothing to prove now, good decision getting back to the programme.

Enjoy closing this out.

Thank you! I am excited to graduate and move on to the 10K, then HM! And watching you get that marathon! :)

Hehe... well you may beat me to marathon! I’m not planning on a formal 10k, but I have found a HM that also involves drinking wine, so that will be good training!

That sounds like fun! I don't have any aspirations for a marathon at this point but do have a goal to get to the half. I am thinking 10K by Christmas for our local Santa run (hopefully before but that is the goal), then on to the half for St. Patty's day. We will see!

Only 6 wine stops on the half... my marathon will be 23 😱 and then you get more wine as a prize.

Santa run sounds fun, and there’s more than enough time to be ready.

It’ll probably be the first, and last, time someone hands me a bottle and I don’t want to open it 😂

Well done... but, back to the plan... too fast, too soon...hidden injuries.. which are just that...hidden :)

Thank you and y es, I will return to the program. I don't want to be sidelined with an injury but it was glorious while it happened.

Wow kwell, sounds like you’re a natural! Your unofficial 5k was quicker than any of mine! Just be wary of injuries - you know that though. 👍

I’m just striving for 10k. HM sounds too hardcore for words. Sounds bonkers even saying I run 5k regularly bearing in mind on June 11th I was begging MJ to call time on my 1 minuters!! 😅🏃‍♀️💪

Enjoy the rest of the programme. You have it in the bag! 👏

Thank you! My dad used to run 11 miles morning and night as a teenager and was an avid runner until he shattered his ankle a few years ago. He is excited to see my journey. I think that helps motivate me! :)
