So I started the C25K programme at the beginning of June and have progressed well through to week 8. In fact in run 2 of week 8 I went on to run the full 30 minutes.
For me this has been a lifetime first. I've never been athletic and certainly have never had a physique to support being a runner. But I have to say despite all the self doubt I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Add to this I have lost close to 2 stone as part of my new regime, which includes a muchore healthy and balanced diet, and I have been in a really good place...until now.
I've noticed I have started getting some new pain in my left foot. But worse still I am concerned I may have aggrivated an old lower back problem (2 previous surgeries) so am now taking a week or so off to see whether it settles back down. I hope so, because to be so close to my target and potentially have to walk away from it would be very hard to swallow.
Fingers crossed, all will be well again next week and I may even give some outdoor running a good!!
