W4R1- Feel like the Queen of the World!

I'm not going to lie, I was slightly dreading today's run as it just seemed such a big jump from week 3.

The first three-minute run was fine, I almost met a gremlin in the first five-minute run, but managed to body-swerve the little bugger, I definitely told Sarah M to sod off during those five minutes too and then, all of a sudden, I was just 'there'. I'd found my rhythm, I'd found my pace and I felt like the Queen of the World!

When the last five-minute run finished I wanted to keep going, I had loads more left in the bag, but, like the good C25K'er I am, I resisted the temptation and did the five-minute cool-down walk just as I was told.

My Jabra app tells me I did 4.36k which I'm thrilled to bits with. (Before anyone says I'm going too fast, I started this with a reasonably good level of fitness and I have a pretty fast walking pace. I walk between 8 and 10k daily with my dogs at a fair old pace)

Anyhow, I think I'm actually beginning to believe that this ex-smoker, soon to be 50 me might possibly be a runner and I can't believe how happy that's actually making me feel. I'm buzzing!

Your Majesty,

Very good running, and great you felt you had more in that tank.

Keep rocking it Ma’am

Feels good doesn’t it!! The good news is you get to be called a runner at the end of week 6. You’ll earn it though as week 6 can be a bit tricky - beware. Well done - onward and upward!

Morning, I'm just out that same W4 R1 run. Not looking forward to the 5 minute run but we'll see how it goes, I'll report back later

Same here!

Just did W4R1. Was dreading it but I managed! Even getting caught in a downpour didn't dampen my spirits (pardon the pun)

@HATTER8152 & @Bluep Well done both, it’s such a good feeling, isn’t it? You’ve both made me feel very lazy as I’ve only just woken up (yay for a non-run day!). I’m going to have a slow breakfast before heading out with the dogs.

Enjoy the rest of today and keep basking in the happy glow of completing today’s run x

It's a lovely feeling slightly tempered by just looking at W5 schedule!

Did W4 R2 earlier this morning absolutely beautiful running along the seafront path, on the first 3 minute run I could feel a ache in my calves but that wore off and at the end of the 2nd 5 minute run I I really felt like I wanted to do more. To anyone reading this and they're struggling please keep going this app is marvellous and will get you through it and although I'm not looking forward to W5 I'm going to do it!
