As I said I intended to tackle Parkrun with C25K week three, so I did my 5 minute warmup and then paused the mp3. So off we went.
You all know the regime 1.5 min running followed by 1.5 min walk followed by 3 min running followed by 3 minute walk and repeat. So today I put two of these together back to back.
I was getting pains about the 2K mark in the place where my illness gives me pains and was thinking of going home. I persisted and finished the Parkrun in a tine of 36.54, and am now waiting to see if it will encroach upon my condition as it is is noted to be exacerbated from too much exercise.
Tell you something, after 4 months off, a 3 minute running period felt more like 15 minutes!!! And I have been walking such a lot these days, different muscles and a different pace I guess.
Thanks to all you who replied to my last post - much appreciated

Hello Oldfloss - how are you doing (Joey Tribbiani accent)
Few aches and pains today and to be honest it is difficult to discern whether they are 'normal' aches or 'PMR' aches. But, appointment with Rheumatologist tomorrow, and a step down in steroids on Tuesday.
Can't really say I enjoyed Parkrun (even though half of it was walking) but did enjoy the sense of achievement afterwards. I think my best bet is to continue on from week 3 and see how it goes.
Second appointment with rheumatologist, who it turns out is also a runner, and he says don't expect to get back to where you were as steroids break down muscles.
Haven't ran since Saturday - life has gotten in the way, top of my thighs have been sore since Saturday
Shame about the thighs โน๏ธ but it sounds as if you can still run just maybe not what you did before. Can you do weights? They build stronger muscles.
Let's hope you can reach some kind of compromise but it's great that the rheumatologist is a runner too ๐
