Who told you to slow down?

C25K is compatible with gym on rest days... just no running on rest days.

As far as I know it was done with other exercise in mind, but it was also done to stand alone as it’s aimed at being available to all, so there’s no requirement to do more. Cross training and yoga are often encouraged by the admins.

Hi mandy167 have just read some of your earlier posts, you seem to do an awful lot of exercise - which is great but you don't want to harm yourself. If the advice to slow down came from a medical professional I think you should do as they say. You can still enjoy everything, but maybe you need to just cut down a bit 😊

Hey Mandy an early happy birthday wish for tomorrow. 😁 It’s brilliant that you do a lot of exercise. Today we are the same age, so I admire you for that. But...if you push too much it sounds like you’ll be ill and then there’s likely to be no running or gym and that could be for a while. You don’t want to be in danger of losing two things that you love to do.

Why not try gentle classes at the gym like yoga or Pilates on the rest days? They’re supposed to be a good compliment to running. After you’ve finished the programme you might choose to do some shorter runs when you’re doing more vigorous work outs at the gym. One things for sure if it’s medical advice you should really fully consider what the risks are and take care of yourself so you can keep doing both in some form.

Best wishes to you! ❤️

I am in my mid 50’s and managed the program with gym sessions ,yoga and tap dancing so some activity everyday. Listen to your body but if it’s medical advice you have been given best do as the professionals say x
