After my celebratory birthday run high two days before, I came down to earth with a literal bump!
Part of our holiday plans were to do a bit of cycling round the narrow Dartmoor lanes - it was all going so well - until it wasn't. I'm not an experienced cyclist, but by anyone's standards the incident was embarassing to say the least. I was stationary at a junction; relatively flat terrain; no traffic in sight; grassy verge to my left interspersed with large granite marker boulders. I just happened to be in the wrong gear and when I tried to get going, the bike didn't move - I keeled over and my trajectory tipped me straight on to one of the rocks.
Result? Severely bruised ribs and hip. Can't breathe properly and can't run....aaayyyyeeeee!
