It hurts!

Just finished week 1 and am really glad I'm doing this. I feel fitter already and am looking forward to week 2. But...everything hurts! I have been really unfit and overweight so was expecting it to be hard...but the aches and pains are ridiculous! Lol. The aches in my legs kept me awake all of last night and I had to have pain relief with breakfast. I am loving the running...but has anyone got any tips for the aches and pains please? Silly question, will it stop hurting as I get fitter or does running always hurt? Lol

Thanks LG 😊

Just make sure you do a cool down not just running simple stretches to legs and arms, I hurt until about week 8 especially my hips but then it went good luck!

Welcome! Well done!Have you checked this post for new runners out. Lots of great advice:)

We do expect normal aches and pains...your body.. as king what the heck is happening. That eases... and each run you do, you become stronger and fitter. Make sure you add in rest day exercise too. Non impact.... strength and flex or swimming or cycling , walking or yoga... so much to choose from:) Stretches after each and every run too !

Just take it very steadily and slowly.... relax and try to land lightly. I call it kissing the ground with your feet. Linked with a healthy eating regime..this is going to get you where you want to be:)

Keep posting too for lots of great advice and support :)
