W1 R1; and so it begins

Just finished my very first actual run in my entire 19 years of life! I wasn’t able to do every part of the run and had to walk some of the running bits but having been an overweight kid since I was about 8, it’s a solid start! I just hope I’m able to keep up the motivation; bring on run 2!

Well done. Remember tho to go slow and steady. If your struggling to breath go even slower. You don't need to run fast just do the running movement. Believe in the programme and in your self x

I was the same - I think part of it was knowing what to expect so it felt a bit easier

Slow and steady will get you through. I would have laughed if anyone told me that after 7weeks I would be running for 25 minutes as I could barely do 60 seconds at the beginning. I run along Hove seafront and am frequently passed by more experienced runners (and occasionally walkers!) but I don’t care because I know I am building up stamina A good breathing rhythm is also essential. You can do it!

I'm on W2r2 and feeling a lot more positive...won't say it's easy but it does get better trust me. Keep going u will do great

Week one session one is very hard. Session two is less of a struggle. Make sure your not setting the pace too high. Remember to stretch out after. Nothing wrong with walking at normal speed and power walking during the run part if you need to build on your confidence and self esteem.
