Well what can I say πββοΈπββοΈ back in my happy zoneππ
Went a different route today, and it worked wonders, instead if watching out for the usual points or the five minute bench it was all new, so just relaxed and enjoyed the view. Lots if stinky garlic along the way.
Had a man on a bike riding alongside to offer me advice about interval training and the need for brisk walking π€ sure he meant well but I'm on my own at least a mile from the nearest road, if he'd pulled out his serial killer axe I don't think my current pace would of saved me.
Was aiming for the pit which is nearby, it was in my sights all the way but at the half way bell I wasn't quite there - think I've found my motivation to aim for next week.

Well done SW, sounds like that was a good one - especially as the annoying cyclist had forgotten to pack his axe that day
Good to see you are already mapping out routes for next week too. Iβve done a little post-grad planning - looking at the route Iβm doing and working out how to arrive back at base on my current limit of 33 minutes, so if thereβs any extra in the tank I could carry on for a bit longer - maybe even those extra few minutes needed for a 5k, for example?
Really good to hear of the positive effect a new route had and that you enjoyed it. What can I say about the mansplaining cyclist, except grrrr! Hope you enjoy your next two runs just as much and you'll be up on the podium soon
Will have to borrow a big dog π I've only got ππππ they are pretty good at personal protection, after all I do feed them, but don't think they'd keep up
I hadn't considered the safety aspect until a friend today questioned being out on my own at 6am. Wear headphones, don't make eye contact, and keep going - I reckon they'd just get bored. That's just the potential axe murderers - I wave manicaly at other runners - 'I'm like you! I know I'm slow but I'm a runner really...honest! '
The trails near me are busy with bikes and horses so I like to be able to hear who is coming up behind me ππ΄ββοΈ
I've only had one incident and that was years ago when a man was following us wanting to talk to my dog, he was a bit of a local character, and although it was scary 'cos he followed us shouting for ages he genuinely meant no harm.
I will probably need to mix up the route again for next week.
If the cyclist had pulled out an axe, I bet you forcefully telling him that he's not going to interrupt your final week would be enough to scare him off...
