Hi everyone, hoping for advice... I have a polar heart monitor that is uncomfortable and means having to carry my phone with me so the polar can track.
Wondering if there's a watch like device that will track for me enable me to listen to the podcast and possibly music and allow me to ditch the iPhone on my walks/runs.
Does anyone have a device like above? I've seen lots have fitbits but also noticed they take their iPhone with them.
If you have to take the phone can anyone recommend a bag for my phone to go in whilst I'm running?
Sorry long post. I'm thinking of starting tomorrow but have lots of anxietys about it. I don't want to be carrying my phone and I'm also nervous about where to run that's safe in the evenings. So lots to think about.

Ah bless you & well done for starting this programme- especially in the face of adversity. Not sure how it would work with the monitor but I have a sports armband that my phone slips in - that way I can just plug my earphones in & go. They are very cheap - have a look on Amazon. Others may have better suggestions than me though Don't be anxious - easier said than done I know but you've started one of the best things you can do for your health & your mental well being. You won't regret it - I promise. You will get so much support & advice from this forum. Good luck & keep us posted.
Thank you for your kind words. I done the programme 3 years ago and I enjoyed it but lived in a different area. Since had my third child and moved areas and really not comfortable with where I am now. My sister in law will be here tomorrow so I may get her to walk along with me.
The armband for the phone sounds good. I just had a quick look and there's so many to choose from. Do you mind me asking if yours is any specific name? I don't want to get a cheap one that's not any good.
I don't think so! It's pink - that prob doesn't help 😂. I think Karrimor are a good make but I can't see a name on mine. I've had it a while. Worth looking at the reviews as well.
I take my phone and fitbit on my runs so not much help in that department, you can probably find a reasonably priced armband on amazon (im sure there'll be some suggestions).
As long as you're running whilst its light you are absolutely fine, if you have to run in the dark stick to well lit areas (if you can, not all of us live in cities!). Either get a friend to run with you or let someone know where you are running (and have a charged phone incase you need to call someone).
I bought a willwell sport waterproof running belt when I started c25k. Just big enough for a phone and keys etc and so comfy and stable to run in I forget I have it on. £6.95 from Amazon.
Really pleased with mine. Not too big. Doesn’t move around. Elasticated strap and a strong buckle/clip. I thought about getting a sports watch but as they’re not cheap I figured this and the phone will do for now. I also think it’s good to have a phone with you. Good luck with the plan! You won’t regret starting it.
Amazon have running belts that fit phones in - super slim and tighten round waist so no jiggling about, super cheap too!
I also use Fitbit (Blaze) so have to take phone. I've found Flip Belt does the trick. Elasticated so no annoying clips digging into my skin. Come in different colours and sizes. You can get them with zips I believe. There is also an internal clip for holding keys in place. I haven't tried an armband as I think it would irritate me. I love my belt and wireless headphones, they really make life a lot easier. Also, don't go far without my cap, great for shielding you from sun and I tip it forward slightly to minimise rain and wind when need be. A few well chosen essentials will improve your experience in the early runs. Hope that helps.
I never liked the idea of an armband so I have a little running belt from Amazon that fits phone and keys in and has a tiny hole for headphones to poke through. Only cost around £3 and is very comfy.
