How do you actually measure your running distance?

When you finish running after 20+ minutes do your knees feel really funny (temporarily)?

Not sure how to answer the knees question, but although they say the app isn’t necessarily about distance ran but more about how long you’ve run for, I downloaded the free version of Strava.

At first I recorded my runs including warm up and cool down walks, then after graduation week I started recording the distance after I’d completed my warm up and stopped recording once I’d finished my thirty minutes.

Thank you.

When I slow down after 20/25mins I feel like my knees are going to break :D

It's a temporary feeling but I wondered if it's because of my spondylitis

Put the Nike run club app on and run it in the background it will give you a rundown of speed and distance and records it for you

Interesting...is that just for step counting though?

Mine tracks distance and pace. Also produced a map of where I've been!

If you are asking about the Fitbit no it gives a map how much of the run was fat burn etc and heart rate etc

I have downloaded the free version of Mapmyrun onto my phone. I also have also discovered there is a MapMyRide for when I am cycling. 😀

Yes, Juliapal, jelly legs I call it! 😂😂 it soon walks off during the warm down but it's just when you get your legs into the run groove but it's still a new thing for your legs. It lessens with time and better fitness.

I used to record my sessions on my phone then strava but now I have a running watch. I start it at the beginning of the session so it includes my warm up/downs but I know how far they take me so I just subtract that from my total distance. (I'm not too fussed how much was run v walk I just like a total) 👍😁

Samsung phones have in-built Samsung health app for running. I use that. Apart from this runtastic is another good app for free to calculate distance and calories burnt.
