Started today and managed half of the first run of Wk 1!!! It’s over an hour later and my breathing and pulse are just returning to normal rates!! But, I’m going to re-do run 1 and push myself until I can do it all in one go!! I haven’t run for 30 years so am pretty proud of myself!!!

Well done for starting! Run really slowly... you can do it!

Check this post for newbies out... and welcome:)

Slow and steady... and take it gently.. don't push... just take it as slowly as you like... the trick really is, slow and steady. Listen to your body...(which will complain) , try some non impact exercise on rest days too... and keep posting for great advice and support:)

You are probably going way too fast........ build stamina and endurance and speed comes later.

Read the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5... for all the basic advice you need.

Keep us posted.

That's a wonderful thing about this program - the flexibility to do it according to what your body will (or won't) do. Be patient with your body - it took a while to get to where you are now, it'll take a little while to get to where you want to be. Believe me, I was so frustrated after the 2nd week that I wasn't just leaping and bounding through a 10-minute mile. But paying attention to the little changes helps: you'll find that you're breathing a bit easier, your heart rate returns to normal faster, or you find that your mind has wandered and you're 30 seconds or more into your walk cycle. Just keep at it!

Happy running, JLouk!
