After a few stops and starts this year due to illness I’ve just started week three. There are a few things I’ve learnt due to my age and lack of fitness along the way. I can only run twice a week or my knees are in agony. I’ve learnt to enjoy running on a treadmill as it’s easier on my joints. I’ve also learnt to take things easier as this is my own personal journey to fitness and not a race, as n the past I’ve pushed too hard and ended up failing. I never thought at the beginning of January that I would actually be able to run for three minutes.... I suppose it’s the small personal victories that count along the way

All very wise realisations.
Running on grass reduces impact, like a treadmill and has the advantage of the great outdoors.
If you are still suffering joint issues, it may be that more heavily cushioned shoes could help.
Keep running, keep smiling.
