155Km - I did it.

Yesterday evening was my last run of January. It was an awful evening. Really cold and raining hard at times. I had to drag myself out. But I did and finished my challenge of doing 5K everyday for January. I picked up the pace for the last 400 meters and was so happy when I crossed the virtual line. I would never have done this last year. Thanks to the C25K plan and thanks to this forum and all you wonderful people.

New challenge for February and March is a training plan to increase speed for Parkrun and 5K races during the summer. I’ll never be fast, but would like to be a little faster than I am.

Well done Damien..thats a fabulous acheivement😎...

True dedication, I bet you are feeling quite a bit trimmer too! It will have helped your running enormously without taking away the fun of running 😊xx

Muchos kudos..

Your so right. I can gain weight very easily. Between November and December I gained 7 pounds. Half a stone in Weight. Scary. Mostly over the Christmas period. I now weight 9 pounds less. And I am trimmed down too. My waist has gone from a 34 to a 32. All good. Must keep going.

It also helped great with getting my fitness back without ruining the fun. I was a really great challenge and a nice way to kick off the New Year.

Now, the hard work begins. How do I get a sub 28 minute 5K time?

Thanks for your kind words.

In order to run faster, you need to increase stamina. Longer slow runs will do it..😊xx

Very well done Damien, an awesome total! I also managed to complete my RED January, although only 42km of actual running. I celebrated the last day of the challenge with a moonlit 6k. Have to say, I did enjoy my night off last night! (and then went and bagged a new PB at Parkrun this morning.)

If we can keep going through the coldest, darkest month, just think what we can achieve in the year ahead!

Congratulations on your New Parkrun PB. I have not broke my Parkrun PB since last August. I want to take some time off that this year. Well done again to you.
