iPhone7 - armband or something else while running?

There are days when I think it would have been better without a jacket but I carry my phone in it

Although it’s really lightweight, now that I have a base layer and a running top, I get a bit too heated towards the end of my run.

And the small zipper in my running tights can’t hold iPhone 7

What do you use to carry a phone on your runs?

Thanks in advance for your tips 🙏🏼

I use a flipbelt and love it.

Me too. First time this morning, previously tried with an arm band and a waist belt, and the Flipbelt is head and shoulders better.

I ordered a

"Multi-functional-Sports-Running-Waist-Bags-Belt-Yoga-Pockets-For-Mobile-Phone" thingy off ebay.

Strapped around my arm or simply held in my hand. As it's linked with my ear plugs because l listen to music while running, l won't lose it ;) If music is no more that means I dropped it!

I use a spibelt but the pocket is quite snug so I am looking at a flipbelt next. I’ve also kept it in my pocket with it zipped

The pocket stretches sufficient to hold phone and car keys. I think it will hold a 7plus phone, although I have an old fashioned 6!

I have a Karrimor belt from Amazon. Its handy as I need to carry an inhaler too, and holding the phone is awkward. Think those legging pockets are literally just for keys! I have a Galaxy s7 and it fits OK

I have a karrimor belt too and it's great

I just use a bum bag and it's virtually no weight at all. Also have a hankie in there for this cooler weather and runny nose! Tried an arm band and couldn't get on with it.

Enjoy!

I use an armband which is great as I can glance at my phone to see the time. Useful in the first few minutes of a long run when you think you've been running for five minutes and it's actually two! Thankfully that feeling settles down when you get into your stride.

I bought an elasticated bum bag type thing at a garden centre and it's probably the best running gear I've ever bought. Only cost about £5 and I can fit phone, keys, whatever in there!

I put it in my sports bra!

Please don't put your phone in your bra. I used to keep my phone in my bra. My oncologist told me I should never have done that (just after I'd had a mastectomy), I wish I'd listened to this advice sooner.

There are many causes for cancer and sadly we unable to definitively know the root cause. Your Dr should not have attributed your phone placement as the root cause, he/she doesn't know. There has never been a study to confirm this.

I realise that, but I would rather minimise the risks as it wasn’t pleasant.

in reply toRazouski

If you are worried about your phone-in-bra causing breast cancer, you'd better not ever hold it near your head whilst making a phone call. There is no scientific evidence for direct causation.

I don’t use my mobile for phone calls as I am hearinginpaired. I wasn't meaning to make anyone angry, I just know how difficult I have found recovering from this and would do anything to try and minimise the risks. Sorry if I upset you.

Bought a running belt from sports direct. Two pockets. Little one at front has hole for earphones but have to use big one at back for my galaxy s5 woth wire coming thru zip. Space for tissue & keys. Great. Much better than pocket r trying to hold in sweaty hands. Around £5/6.

I have a little running belt - clips round your waist. Personally, I hated the armband but this works for me x

Armband. Can easily pick them up on amazon for less than a tenner. Hate having anything tied round my waist so works for me.

I have an old note 3 and just shove it in my sports bra :)

please be wary of keeping your phone in your bra. Although the science isn't conclusive, there are rumblings about the link between phones in bras and breast cancer. I had to have a mastectomy a year and a half ago on the breast where I'd kept my phone. My oncologist has urged me not to do the same on the other side. :-(

Thank you for that...I will look into getting something more suitable. Xx

I bought a simple Karrimor belt from Sports Direct which clips round your waist and has a small zip up pocket. I then thread the lead of my headphone under my vest to my ear. There is also a little clip within the pocket which I clip my key ring to so I know that it won't fall out if I have to take my phone out mid run.

Thank you all for your suggestions. What an amazing community. I have ordered a running belt on Amazon for now. Have Bluetooth headphones, so wires not an issue. Hope that’s going to help. Let’s see

I used to put my phone in my pocket but then I found a karrimor belt in a charity shop which I quickly snapped up and it has 2 wee pockets so my keys can go in one! Saves things jumping about! Pockets then free to stuff my gloves in when I get too hot!!😀
