Hi there, I hope everyone is doing well in our 5k journeys!

The app I have says to run 3 times a week and then progress onto the next week but is it okay to do some runs early

Do them whatever time of day you like, just make sure you leave at least a day between runs. Rest days are there for a reason. And that reason is to allow your soft tissues, bones and muscles time to recover and repair.

I think your legs will tell you that you are doing it too often if you miss rest days but I run every other day most of the time so it isn’t neccessarily in line with the ‘week’

When you run you create micro tears in your muscles which repair and strengthen on your rest days not while you are running. No rest, no repair, no strengthening, therefore increased injury risk.
