So after a week off due to a horrid migraine- 😩 I took to the saddle and completed wk5 run 1. Wet and running against the wind- I didn’t care. I love every minute. I’m very lucky to be able to run with a view as beautiful as the beach- rain or shine. I never thought I’d get this far- but here I am!! Thank you to you all for your inspiring posts. 😊

Well done. I feel the same. Found it quite doable and have just done Wk 5 Run 2 which wasn't difficult either. ( Just about to post about that.) So you will be fine for the 2nd one. It is believing you can do it now as the fitness has already been built up even when you have a few days off for illness which I did a couple of weeks ago. It helps me that that the temperature is lower than when I started the programme. Enjoy the next two of Week 5 xx

Oh how i DESPISE migraines!!! But good job for getting back out there!! :)

Any tricks you have on dealing with migraines that work particularly well for you? (I try anything and everything... a lot of times it just depends on how stubborn that migraine wants to be, most of the time I end up having to sleep it off)

I soooo feel your pain. I have been suffering for over 12 months now and have been to see a neurologist- they put me on epilim and that seems to control them as they had become chaotic- ie 2 a week sometimes. So severe that I would be sick and in bed for 2/3 days at a time. Now there has been some improvement. It was 6 whole weeks before my last one which is amazing for me. They have given me sumatriptan injections for the onset- but it makes me really drowsy 💤. I’m still on a journey of discovery really- kept a food and drink diary- hormones etc etc but nothing. I just have to grin and bear it. Sorry I can’t help you, I did pay to see a neurologist though which was worth it’s weight in gold. Even if it was just for someone to say yes migraines are nasty and we want to help you. Hope you find the answers your looking for ☺️

Yes, I have been struggling with them for about 16 years now I guess? (They started as a child, i'm only 25 now) .... they have definitely gotten MUCH worse over the past 5 years or so. I have been to see two neurologists, the first I didn't like because he kept throwing new medicines my way (i'm not big on medicine if there is a different way to treat something).

I like my new neurologist. I have been seeing him maybe 2.5 years now? He has tried me on some medicines, the most *recent* being an antidepressant to counteract mental/emotional effects of the migraine rather than treating the migraine itself... I HATED that as it caused me to gain weight, and weaned off about a year ago now! We are just maintaining right now, and I cut ALL caffeine out since about May.

Migraines are so tricky! I'm hoping the effects of consistent exercise will help somewhat!

Yes I know what you mean. I give into the meds being a mum of 2 and working full time- but I’m really hoping that this wonderful program will help. I’m sorry to hear about your migraines- sometimes I find people just class them as a “headache” I really wish that was the case!! Glad to know that there’s more people out there who really understand. Thank you for your messages. I’m almost human again. 😊
