Morning my running family. I have a question. Yes, I know it's early and it's Friday but still, here goes....
I need some advice on torches. As the mornings are darker, (I try to be out by 6:30am), I'm finding that by the time I start running through the park, I can't see the path when I'm inning, which is not a good thing!!
So, head torches, some of which look like they're out of an episode of Doctor Who or body torches, which if you've put on your layers, then the body torch, how the hell so I take layers off whilst running with the torch across my body!! I am having Monty Python sketches and such like running through my head at the moment!!
Any advice would be gratefully received- head or body?
Happy running peeps ππΌππ»ββοΈ

You can get head ones that have both the torch on the front and a marker light on the back I believe, I know you're not running on the road but you never know where you might run in the future.
Hiya Kim, I got a head torch recently from a well known internet supplier (named after a South American river). Very handy for avoiding branches and lamp posts (switched off ones in my neck of the woods), the local cats tend to freak me out with their reflecting eyes though!
A head torch puts light where your head is pointing, so you can look around you and direct the beam accurately. Mine projects rather too far from my head and tends to wobble a bit, so I would recommend one that sits close to the head. Most have a red rear light, which is a good safety feature if running on the road.
Mine doesn't move, which is good π I bought the one recommended on here, an LED Lenser Neo,it was about 18 quid but that was a few years ago. the Petzyl ones look neat too. If there is no lighting at all in the park you might need more lumens to give you a wider, brighter light splay
The Lenser website explains all
Mine has a red light at the back. The back red light, and the front light, both have a flash setting Good for the price I reckon π
I had a look just now. Β£19.25. But on some other sites they are way dear π±
