Am on week 9 of c25k and did my third parkrun this morning - slowest 5k run time both there and in my c25k running ... and the worst thing was I ran the whole thing for the first time! I was surprised at the time though as I felt I was running at a reasonable pace. Oh well - at least I enjoyed it and the sun was shining. Onwards to graduation π
Parkrun getting slower!: Am on week 9 of c25k... - Couch to 5K
Parkrun getting slower!
So you're saying 8 weeks ago you could barely run a minute and now the FIVE KILOMETERS you ran seem slow?
Just checking
You soon learn that PBs don't come every week and also that run/walk is a perfectly effective way of covering ground in the fastest overall time and is used by many marathon runners.
The important thing is that you enjoyed it and if you could clear your obsession with performance, it might have been one of your best runs ever.
You just ran 5k..........be very proud of your achievement.
5k? Fantastic
ejvcruns is quite right!
...and what does LAURA say?!? "...a bad run is better than no run..."
Some runs are better than others. Some days are better than other days. So don't fret--just enjoy your runs. Some people twist an ankle or get shin splints or whatever and can't run at all. I think I remember someone saying they twisted something just getting out of their shower..... (Hmm?) Be glad you can run!
