Agree entirely, we see loads of posts from people worried about distance, time, speed, splits and in the early days, they are pretty much unimportant and can cause far more concern than they warrant. Chill take your time work out what's a comfy pace and do it your way.
When I first started, I just had the podcasts on my tiny iPod shuffle and mapped my routes on MapMyRun when I got home. Then I bought a waist belt and started using Strava alongside the podcasts. I was doing it with a friend in another part of the country,so we used Strava to keep track of each other!!
