What with one thing and another, I've not run very much this year since graduating from c25k last September, and not at all for the past couple of months. No excuses, just laziness and I got out of the habit. I really thought I'd have to go back to square one with the programme but decided to try running for 20 minutes earlier this week, with a minute walk after 10 minutes. As that went ok, I ran for 30 minutes yesterday. The voices in my head told me I couldn't do it, but I managed to ignore them by keeping it slow and steady. I only covered 3.6k in the 30 minutes but then carried on walking until I hit 5k. It feels good to know that my goal of running 5k again is realistic and I just need to make myself get out there.

Oh wow, it's amazing to know you can still pick up where you left off. I'm on week 6 and we're off on holiday in September. I'm already worrying how I'll keep on with the programme while we're away - maybe it won't be the end of the world if I miss a couple of runs, then!
You could run on holiday maybe......
Missing a couple of runs should be ok. Even if you can't pick up exactly where you left off, you could always repeat a week or two to get back in the groove. Just ignore the self doubt!
Yes, well done for the come back! Keep at it and posting here might help you keep motivated....or what about joining a club or signing up for parkrun?
I keep meaning to try a park run but will wait until I can do 5k again...even if it's slowly!
Keep going whichever route you try. Good luck on next run out
Welcome back! Well done you...especially for not listening to the gremlins in your head!!
As ever, slow and steady and you will be right back on track
Thats reassuring!
