Just a quick update; I am beginning to think I must have been abducted by aliens as cannot believe that yesterday (my rest day) I was itching to go out for a run. Me the atypical couch potato!
Anyway I was good and resisted the urge, took the puppy for a nice stroll instead but tonight I cooked a nice healthy salmon stir fry for tea, packed my other half off for his band rehearsal, got me industrial strength over shoulder boulder holder and trainers on and off Sarah and I went.
I seriously cannot believe I am enjoying this and I am, so much, thanks for all your posts and comments they are both interesting and informative and are definitely keeping me motivated.

Aliens definitely exist, they have an aura surrounding couches, if you are wearing trainers anywhere near a couch, you are abducted and transported to a potential running site. Also on rest days, they pre-programme your mind to think about running. You can never beat the aliens
Another obvious sign that you might have been abducted by aliens - laying off the wine on a Friday night because you have Parkrun in the morning.........😱
I've also found that aliens lose the corkscrew on Friday nights. They usually have a pitch battle with the gremlins on Saturday mornings whilst I pull the duvet up a bit higher ... until panic sets in because I don't want to be late for Parkrun!
These aliens definitely exist but at least they're not scary bug-eyed green monster type aliens. They are happy-making aliens.
Perhaps they can be a bit mischievous. I remember doing W5R2 where you have two 8 minute stretches with 5 mins walking in the middle. I was dreading it as it was 3 minutes more than before, and also it was the hottest day of the year; I waited till 9:15pm to start when the temperature was "only" 28 degrees C. Got to the end of the first 8 minute stretch with relief and started the 5 minutes walk. Then realised after 2 minutes that I was bored with walking and wanted to start running again! I resisted the temptation. Devious little fellows!
I cannot imagine running for 8 mins solid yet but fingers crossed I get there in the end. Very pleased with progress to date and am focussed so will try. 😊
You'll do it no sweat at all. If I can after eating what seemed like 3 cows and a ton of cheese at the weekend, oh and combined with an indecent amount of red wine.... then a reformed couch potato in your own words will knock its socks off. Go you and have fun...
