So, today I faced a new challenge. I started the Couch to 5k because I signed up for a novice triathlon to raise money for Syrian refugees, a cause I've supported for some time. The triathlon is getting closer and I know I need to start doing "bricks" - where you go straight from one discipline to another. Earlier in the week - on the hottest day of the year - I did my last run of W7 and then a spinning class but that's not the way the triathlon goes! Of the swim, cycle and run, the run is my weakest discipline and, of course, it comes after the swim and the cycle! I decided that now is the time to start practising those bricks. This morning I did an hour's spin class and then ran. And I did it. I did 28 minutes! This programme is amazing. I have never been able to run more than a few minutes before. The support on this forum is also amazing. I feel better than I have for years.

Wow! Well done! I'm full of awe for your triathlon plans. Glad you're doing something for such an important cause. I'm running 100km over the summer months for Alzheimer's Research & it really keeps you focused when the going gets tough. Good luck!
