Tight calg

Just completed W4R3 and now have a painful, tight calf. I felt it nipping after my last run but it's quite sore now. Hope it is right for my Monday run. Any suggestions fellow runners.

Rest it and gentle stretches. Try calf rises and falls and you can self massage that area quite well when sitting down. If you have a rolling pin, try rolling that up and down your calves. This acts like a foam roller which irons out those knots and tight spots.

Wait until you're pain free before you run again. You might try a few brisk walks first to test the calf.

Ok thanks for those tips. I really don't want it to get in the way of completing the programme as I have started to feel like I am actually getting there !!! I will maybe have an extra day or two before my next run. Thanks again.

That's very wise to take an extra few days. There's no hurry to get through the programme.
