Hi everyone,Before l started this last run ofW8; l downloaded an app with GPS tracking my running. After W7 l suddenly found that l could push on further than expected.---- What l am leading onto is,that this last run,l ran my usual route and acheived it easily,so l thought suddenly! that l could go further than this; SO,l ran on along the river path in Woodbridge and passed my previous property of 10yrs ago.l saw an old neigbour(still feeling fine at this stage),l carried on ignoring the count down on my phone app.l decided to run Melton hill through the woods( stillOkay);so l continued home and finished with the 5min cool down.I stopped the app on my phone; l COULD NOT BELIEVE IT!----- I looked at the time taken and the distance l covered was over10k???This all happened yesterday. Now l am thinking "What do l dooo- carry on with W9???...I just don't know? I was expecting to aches and pains this morning but am Okay.Stevy.
W8r3 A Confession of the Day.: Hi everyone... - Couch to 5K
W8r3 A Confession of the Day.
I would say if you want to face getting injured through overdoing it then carry on as you are!
The program is designed the way it is for a reason. Even once graduated you are only meant to increase time/ distance by 10% per week
That sounds like a great run Stevy, well done..I bet you feel elated.😊
I agree with Slinkyminky though, best to have at least one rest day, then carry on with the program. Its designed to get you running regularly without injury and the increments have been tried and tested. You know what you are capable of, so the 30 min runs of week 9 shouldn't give you any problems and your legs will strengthen and stamina increase.
After graduation when you have consolidated your 30 mins of running you can start to run for longer (only increase by small amounts) and you should stay injury free.
Good luck.. and again very well done.😊 x
