Week 2 Here we come

I've started my week 2 and I'm feeling pretty positive. I'm a little worried about the jump to 3 min run in week 3. How have others found this?

Dont worry, this programme builds so that you are ready for the next stage each time and if you aren't well just repeat a day or two. Most likely you'll find you are ready tho. πŸ˜„

Don't worry, trust the program. Take the run sections nice and slow and steady. You can do this...it works.😊

One run at a time. Good luck with the rest of Week 2 and let us know how you get on...

what helps me is to just jog at a low impact(softly) if you can :) and just build as the plan goes

I've found that it's my own self belief that's been the problem so far. I generally look at the runs at the start of a new week and think "right, that's a bit of a step up, if I can do it, great, but if not, I'll just have to repeat the day, no big deal." I've surprised myself every time though and not had to repeat any days :)

You'll find as well that when you get to week four and the 3 minute run is the shorter of the two that you'll be able to do it without much of a problem and wonder what you were worrying about :P

Hey, well done on starting your running journey! I'm only a week in front of you and I felt similarly! I thought week 1 to week 2 seemed a reasonable jump, but then 3 mins seemed loads.

On Run1 in Week 3 I just listened to Laura (or whoever you have coaching you through it!)-you start with the 90secs that you're used to and that went fine, then she builds you up ready for the 3 minutes-really encouraging, and half way through the 3mins she talks to you again so you know you're doing well and she keeps you going. Then you repeat the 90secs and 3mins again.

I thought it felt ok doing it-and I was surprised by how far 3 minutes of running was!

I'm sure you'll do great!!

Hi. It's good to hear from someone who's in the same boat 😊 Up till now I've had a running buddy, but she's not enjoying it and has pulled out, which is a real shame. I've signed up to run the Race for Life so I'm definitely going to battle on. Good luck with your running, you must be on 5mins now?

That's a shame your running buddy has dropped out-but a race to aim towards should keep you going!

Unfortunately I broke my ankle as a teen and sprained it last Thursday-I'm off running for 2-4 weeks now or risk raising up old scar tissue! Although I am still using a cross trainer and doing some HIIT to keep up the fitness at least so I'll be ready for a run when my ankles better!

You keep up the awesome work though!!
