I've named the Quest the,' Run Rabbit Run Easter Quest,' because I think its about time the Easter bunny got fit!!!! That way he can eat more chocolate, so its a win win for him!! The pic is of my 2 bunnies called Rufus and Ruby and they do love to run too
What the quest is:-
The quest takes six weeks.
You can join any time within that six weeks.
The main aim of the quest is to help you find a focus or goal that you would like to achieve by the end of the Quest period.
I ask that you are a graduate . The main reason I ask this is that while you are doing the program your plan is very structured so I wouldn't want the quest to interfere with that.
Most popular goals are:-
To run three times a week
To slowly increase distance
To train for a specific race
To add In Stretch and strength exercises
As you can see they are personal to yourself and it's totally your own choice.
Every week I will pin a new post where all the members of the quest can talk about how things are going.
So if you wanted to join all you have to do is put
I would like to join the quest, or count me in and then I would like to. ..............
Your name will be added for the duration of the Quest.
Good Luck everybody !

Fingers crossed you've beaten the lurgy, Floss. Core strength is something I need to work on. I forget - until I am getting to the end of a longer run and realise how tired my middle is
It did improve when I was using my cross trainer after the broken rib incident, and pushing small one in pram helped too..especially up the hills.. but the lurgy seems to have lessened the benefits .. never mind.. onwards and upwards, we will get there
Thanks for this Ju. I'm in, well of a sorts anyway. My quest aims are to walk 3-4 times a week to build up. Come on the forums and support everyone else.
This quest will be a bit mixed for me, I leave for France in a week, so will be pretty busy with packing and stuff. My foot is still painful, and I've also got adductor and hip flexor twinges, so it seems a good time for a break. I will, however, be running in Spain next week en route, couldn't miss that! After that, I'll be continuing with Run/walk, I'm interested to see how I cope with the undulating topography in France when I get there.
You take care.. so envious that you are heading back...
Now we have sold the tin- tent, not sure when we will be back there... and even though we now have the little holiday home by the sea, I think we may head out to do some Auberge stays ..
Make sure you foot and your hips are healed...a bit of warmth may help ?
It's about time I quested again, having dropped out for a while. I'm pushing myself at the moment and having got up to 12k last week I would like to have done 15k at least once by the end of the 6 weeks.
I would also like to improve my 5k times mid-week, but I don't think I can increase distance and improve speed at the same time. So if it comes it's a bonus, but otherwise I'm looking at distance!
Count me in please, ju-ju- - great name for the Quest!
My aims are to maintain the increase in distance. I'm going to do that by doing a two-week cycle of one week of hill or interval run (I will get up Killer in one run!) and an 8 - 10k run, and then on the second week do a shorter run and a looooong run. I've been checking out more bus stops on the Trails but may need to negotiate with my daughter to pick me up again, although if I'm really clever I could drive to a stop on the Trail with a parking area and bus stop, leave the car, catch the bus to a stop further up and run back again. Complicated or what! This takes me over 12k though... with the aim of getting up to 15k by the end of this Quest. There, I've said it!
Happy running everyone, and a swift recovery to those on the IC or unable to run at this point x
Haha! Great name for a quest JJ. Count me in please as I haven't done a quest for ages. I have a race in May and am doing an Asics plan so this quest is a good way to make sure I stick to it as I have a habit of going off piste and doing my own thing π
Have a great quest fellow runners and to everyone on the IC or unable to run remember to keep the faith, always.
Well I really need to get back to running 3* per week as I've only run twice since my HM a month back (have been fighting off horrible lurgies ever since) Assuming the lurgie goes I have made myself a 10k training plan. I will likely have a couple of weeks off in the middle of the quest though as we are going to Israel to visit our daughter and though I will take shoes !
Yep - I am going to re-quest!! Have finally got my mojo back after finding a programme that suits me on my advance to 10K. Doing the Ease Into 10K bluefin app which is great - especially as I am back in my holiday home in Spain at the mo and really enjoying seafront runs in tthe early morning sunshine!. So count me in please - week two starts tomorrow and I WILL get to 10K π
2. To work on increasing distance of my Sunday run
3. To increase the amount of walking k do generally
I've recently become more aware of how little I often walk in a day. 10k steps is a rarity, and usually only happens on a running day; a normal work day with no run can easily be 5,000. So the dogs are getting rather more late evening runs than they used to, and I'm trying to be more aware of the need to walk further - getting off the bus two stops early and having 20 mins to walk to work instead of 7, going for a short walk at lunchtime - that sort of thing.
I'm in Ju. I would like to increase my running so that at the park run on a Saturday I can run all the way around the 5k as at the moment it's a combination of running/ walking.
Having been a bit off colour most of the last quest, and in the last few weeks just about managing to drag myself round one 5k each week, I'm hoping to get back to 2 or 3 runs a week - 2 x 5s and something a bit longer.
Great photo ! I like bunnies but like sprouts even more.
Got my Runniversay coming up. Think started C25K about May/June and graduated in August.
Got to my 45 minute mark. Don't want to run more than 1 hour. Running for 6 1/2 K so would be nice to by Graduate Anniversary to Say I can run 5 miles which is roughly 8 and a bit K. My pace is about 8 to 8 1/2 K so should be achievable.
Last quest did 3 distances 4 1/2 K to work , 5K and 6 1/4K to get up to 45 minutes.
Found bit of a struggle to step up to 45 minutes so this time will do at least 2 long runs on my Days Off (Wednesday and Sunday) to increase my time to 48 minutes putting me closer to 7K .
Then on future quests increase by couple of minutes to get me up to 5 miles and 8K. On my Friday run I will set out 5 minutes earlier and tweak route to do 5K in practice for future park run.
In addition make serious attempt at doing regular core exercises.
In summary in this quest
1) Increase running time by 1/2 minute per week to reach 48 minutes running 2 days per week. Which should put me close to 7K.
2) Increase my distance tweaking to 5k for one run per week to work.
