Yes i did. On the forum we also had a virtual team parkrun on Christmas eve, regular parkrunners alongside first timers, around 50 of us in total across several continents! You never run alone on this forum.

Have you registered or ran parkrun yet?

I love parkrun! After this forum, it's the best thing I found since starting running. I didn't do it during C25K but I started a couple of months after graduation. There is no reason why you can't do it during C25K though, plenty jog with walking breaks! That is what I am doing at the moment in fact.

I aim to do one a month, it gives me a target and something to keep going at having completed C25K. Currently PB of 38 minutes, hoping come the end of the year I might get that to closer to 35, which as I know I have run 5K in that time seems not too far away. Though after this morning's muddy one, I may have to go down to the one at Shrewsbury which is run on tarmac!

You can start C25k at parkrun if you want or leave it for Run 3 of Week 9

you might need to give C25k your full attention as you do need to listen for instructions, so Parkrun could distract from that

Parkrun is a blast! Lots of fun. Every kind of runner and walker is there. Old young, dogs, all shapes and sizes. It's mad. PLus there's usually a cuppa tea to be had at the end. Folks are very friendly as they are there for the same reason, to run or walk a bit and to have fun. Even some elites turn up to tear arse round, looking for personal bests and to have a blast before a race. They just zoom round the outside

I started it after c25k, once I had got to the point where I could more or less run 5k. In some ways I wish I had started sooner as they are friendly, inclusive events, often with run - walkers. I have now done 58 parkruns in 10 different venues, plus 4 volunteer sessions at my home run. A truly great thing, and one of the things that keeps me running some 2 years on from graduation.

I did my first parkrun before I even started C25K !! :) Thereafter I frequently incorporated one of the weeks C25K runs into parkrun -- including the 5 minute walk warmups and cooldowns. There is nothing to fear about parkrun!!:)

Yes, I started Parkrun on run 3 of week 9 last Easter. My time then was 33:33. I love Parkrun and continue to go most weekends. My times have improved. Yesterday I did 31:25, but towards the end of last year I was managing under 31 and even managed under 30 once. Just started bridge to 10K to stop me getting bored and also to see what I am capable of. I've only been running since September 2015, so I'm happy with my progress.

I did my second parkrun today. Just finishing week 4. I ended up running more than walking and realised I had finished the prompts before the end and just had to dig deep as I’d been out of sync all the way through but loved it ... and I didn’t finish last and shaved about ten mins off my first time. Think I did about 38 mins this time. Which for week 4, I’m happy with that as I’m not built for running yet!
