Normally my running week has started on a Saturday giving me a 2 day rest but tomorrow is crazy busy and I knew I'd struggle to go for a run so I thought I'd go today.

I had decided that as this was my first post graduation run, or my 'big girls run' as I called it to hubby, I would try without Laura. She is still on the phone just in case, and I'm sure I will take her for a run now and then. Instead I had a look online for podcasts last night and found a couple of music ones with not a bad beat, plus I finally worked out how to get the running app I use to give me 5 minute indicators as well as distance ones. One thing I did keep the same was the route, just incase anything failed, that way I knew where I'd stopped my warm up and started running, and like wise when I had finished my run.

Also it was the first time I had run later in the day, after work, having eaten lunch a while before and taken the dogs for a good hour run.

I felt I needed to prove to myself that I really could do this.

The only real glitch I had was a slight finger malfunction in getting the music to work but thankfully nothing too major and I was soon off and running. Beautiful day, blue skies and sun but crickey it was chilly typical for the Highlands. I thought I was going to over heat with my jacket on but in fast it was fine. Legs were more tired than normal, but I expected that. The result was that I managed it and even ran for a little further at the end, not much maybe only about 30 seconds but I set my mind on a target further along the road than I finished last time and it worked.

Really pleased with todays run and now I know I really can do this under my own steam. Happy weekend folks x Good luck for all the outings this weekend x

Brilliant well-done. Sounds like a beautiful place to run, I quite often run without music.

Super first_mate ! Targets and little increments will be the way forward I'm sure. Not pushing too much that we can't do it and get despondent, but just to gain a little bit each time...xx
