W3R1 done and dusted and I feel fine Can't believe I ran a total of 9 minutes this evening. That's the most I've run since I was at school (last century!) I can't believe how much better I feel than week one when a 60 second jog nearly killed me. Woo, go me!
The only downside is that since the clocks went back I have to do my run in the dark. Well, almost dark, but in a week or two it will be really dark when I go out for my run - around 5 o'clock. Any recommendations? Luminous gear? Carry a torch? Husband suggests a headband with LED light on it - does anyone else use one of these and if so what are they like to use? I run on paths and pavements, it's quite rural though, lots of trees so lots of leaves and conkers on the path at present.

I admire the intrepid runners who go out in the dark but it's not for me so I'm having to reorganise my days and weeks to run in the mornings but not so early. I have a ProViz cap which is fully reflective and there are jackets and gilets in the range too which you may like.
Well done getting to week 3. Hopefully you're building the foundations for a long and healthy habit which your body will thank you for in years to come too.
If you can get one, a head torch is the best option - lets you be seen and helps you to see. Alternatively, I've clipped cheap bicycle wheel lights onto belts/gloves/fingers before now (particularly good as you can make them flash) to make sure I can be seen.
A couple of weeks back Aldi had reflective arm bands with flashing/constant lights at £1.99 a pair, I also bought powerful (200 lumens) cycle front light which has belt clip as well as attachment for cycle. More expensive (12.99) but this is excellent, four output settings and flashing, rechargeable using USB. My local shop still had some stock yesterday.
I think you're all very brave going out in the dark. But then we know you're brave because you're running at all. I'm lucky enough to be able to choose my run times, so I do mornings. Anyway - fantastic progress. Isn't it a marvellous feeling in Week 3 when you've doubled your non-stop running time and you didn't think you could?
Absolutely! Never thought I'd manage three minutes on the trot (haha) and I'm amazed by how much less out of puff I was. Hopefully similar results tomorrow - today is my rest day
