After graduating on Saturday 15th, I went for an evening run the following Monday and managed 36 minutes with a couple of walking breaks.
Last night, my running galpal and I decided to have our last evening run together as the clocks go back at the weekend and we don't want to run in the dark. So off we set.
'Let's just see how far we get' says I as we started off on the Parkrun course. So we did.
After about 4k she says to me 'Let's just finish.'
'What, stop running now?' says I.
'No. See if we can get to the end' says she.
And we did. I ran 5K!!!!!!! Ok, I could almost walk it faster, but I can now run for 30 minutes easily, can run longer than that and can run 5k. So, Couch to 5K, job well and truly done! Go me!!!
Now to start working on speed ...

Fantastic! Great achievement! I need to work on my speed too, but still can't believe I've actually run 5k! I am going to try to knock a couple of minutes off my time. Then when I can do it under 40 minutes I might just do that Parkrun. Are you thinking of going on one?
I've actually been doing Parkrun since June, gradually running more than walking. Next Saturday will be the first time I will try to run the whole way.
Love it when runs end up being spontaneous and you achieve goals like this. Havent ventured to parkrun yet as not that keen on early morning runs. Impressed you do.
I do often wish Parkrun was slightly later . I volunteered as a marshal last week and had to he there for 8.30. As my friends that I usually go with were running it wasn't really fair for me to demand that we all arrive together like we normally do, so I left the house at 8 and walked there alone. Yawn zzzzz
