Slinky's recovering OK and breathe...

It was about 7.30 this evening when she came back to the ward after being in recovery for a while, saying all went well, with just a mini slit wound in her chest/neck, and morphine, so that's got that damn thing off her chest, so can now heal nicely and return to running when ready, which will be some months away. But I can now breathe a sigh of relief 😊

Thanks bop, she had a rather large goitre from her thyroid which instead of growing out from her neck as is mostly usual, it silently grew downwards into her chest, so was pushing on her windpipe, it was only found as she went through c25k graduation and started to exert herself more, she'd start coughing, and our fine doctor found her thyroid inflamed in her neck, then the large goitre was found, but I saw the scans and what was there, and the problem it was starting to cause, at least that's out of the way now.. Now I don't want you lot thinking you have this problem if you start coughing in the cold weather, it probably is just the cold..😊

Oh bless, poor Slinky but yay, surgery over with and look forward not back! She will be bombarded with love and kindness when we next hear from her! Thank you so much for taking the time to update, x

Do you think you might have been more worried than her? Sounds tough for both of you. I wish her a really good quality healing - it is amazing how well these surgical neck wounds can become invisible in time.

Yes, I probably was more worried than her, as I suffer badly from anxiety, so find it really hard to just sweep things under the carpet! don't tell me there's therapy for it, as I've had it.. thank you..
