I noticed last night that my ankles were swollen, absolutely no pain though. I didn't run yesterday, but the day before. Could the ankle swelling be a result of running? I am new to the whole exercise thing so not sure if it's related.
It had gone down quite a bit by this morning, and I'm due to run W4R2 this evening.

I am no doc. However my wife often has swolen ankles when she walks in hot conditions, and just restign with them elevated is usually enough. She never expereinces pain or tenderness with her swollen ankles.
So it is possibly okay to run, and then rest with elevation afterwards? But if it continues seek medical advice from your GP or NHS Direct or whatever.
Also, rather than run W4R2, walk it? slow walk the walk stages and pwoer walk the runing stages, see if that makes a difference?
I have no experience with this, but read it can be down to running style and how your feet land, on the inside or outside of the foot.. have rest and when better try again and see how it goes, body has to adapt to running, see if this link can help..
We have a saying on here "if in doubt, check it out". The gp's are generally very good with questions. My surgery has a telephone helpline once a day just so you can ask advice on things like this. Take it easy and look after yourself and I would get it looked into if it carries on.
