20 year old to start first ever Marathon with a 5K run. How should I go about in my training?

Wow, that's a big question! If you can already run 5k then maybe this forum isn't quite the one for you as it's basically for non-runners starting right at the beginning. Try googling 'marathon training plans' - there are loads available - and take it from there? Or try on our sister forum Bridge to 10k - there are many more experienced runners and racers on there.

Good luck with your training.

I would find a running club it will really help.

We also have another site for those working towards half or full marathons where you will be made very welcome.

You are also most welcome on this site. There are lots of new runners, lots of experienced ones & lots on the journey in between.

Have you downloaded any form of plan? Lots of people on here use Asics for theirs.

Good luck with the training!
